Can I move productions from one Mac to another?

Yes, if you’re careful and don’t mind getting your hands a little dirty.

  • If you have Creator open on the Mac you want to migrate from: Make sure you have an Internet connection, save the production and quit Creator.
  • In Dailies Server (in your web browser), click Productions followed by the production you want to migrate, then Detach… next to the Dailies Creator header, and finally Detach to confirm the detachment.
  • Do one of the following:
    • If the target Creator is already paired, click Add existing… (next to the Dailies Creator headline), and choose the target Creator.
    • If the target Creator is not already paired, pair it by clicking the Pair new… button (next to the Paired devices header).
  • Make a note of the last part of Server’s current URL: This is the production’s ID (e.g. 145427e5-47a0-4e29-83e2-08e79bb68869).
  • On the target Mac (the one you want to migrate to) open the production in Creator, and then immediately quit Creator.
  • On the source Mac, go to Finder and open this location: ~/Library/Application Support/no.drylab.DailiesCreator2/productions/ .
  • Locate the production that matches the ID you found on Server.
  • Copy this production to the corresponding location on the target Mac.
  • Open the production again on your target Mac.
  • Congratulations! You have now migrated your production.
